Welcome to Hillsboro Classroom’s first Summer Arts Camp for rising 1st-rising 6th graders. Camp Location Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Route 219 Hillsboro, WV
The camp will feature three art stations that every child will rotate through each day. Station One: Explore Drawing, Painting, and Print Making with Jacque Minarik. Station Two: Learn hand built pottery and glazing with Cris Bartlett. Station Three: Create handmade paper using recycled paper and then create homemade paper art objects with Cyla Allison. This is a 5 day camp, June 17-21. Children should arrive by 12:45 pm each day and be picked up 4:30 each day except Friday when the parents will be asked to arrive at 4:30 and stay for a few minutes to enjoy all the children’s art work for the week. Their children will then take their artwork home.
Participants will not need to bring anything except a willingness to learn about these art forms. They should wear comfortable, old clothing that can get stained with paint, glue, and clay. They should come with an attitude of learning and fun. At the end of the week they will show off their art creations for their parents, and then go home with beautiful art of their own creation they can keep forever.
Participants with special food needs such as allergies or gluten sensitivities should bring a paper bag with a snack from home. Please limit sweets and try to opt for fruit, cheese, and crackers.
