PLEASE NOTE:  THIS CLASS IS IN TWO CONSECUTIVE SEGMENTS.  FEE COVERS BOTH SEGMENTS AS WELL AS THE MATERIALS FOR THIS CLASS.

The LIBRARY TOTE is the perfect basket for holding just about anything, such as a carry all for your car or a decorative basket to showcase in your home.  It’s a strong basket that can, as its name implies, hold books!   No need to bring anything to class except your desire to learn a new reed basket technique.   The class fee covers the cost of all materials.  This basket is appropriate for beginners as well as experienced basket makers.  You will have a fun time working under the direction of John and Margy, and you will go home with a gorgeous basket you can be proud to keep or give as a special gift!

Please note:  It is helpful if some participants come to the class a little early and some come a little late.  The staggering helps the instructors give instructions and hands on help.

John and Margie Sparks will teach this class!

The instructors will provide all the materials you need.  All you need to bring is an eagerness to learn a new art form!  If you’ve already been introduced to basketry, you will enjoy making another beautiful reed basket to add to your collection.

Margie Sparks is a retired dental assistant who enjoys gardening and the craft of basketry,  both as the artist and the instructor to introduce others to her love of basketry.  John Sparks is a retired painter who also enjoys basketry, making music and gardening!
